Making easy peasy buttercream

for St. Patrick's Day

Shopping list
mini-vanilla cupcakes
140g soft butter                    
280g icing sugar                
1-2 tablespoons milk                
1 teaspoon vanilla extract    
a few drops food colouring   

To decorate 
green sprinkles    
golden sprinkles    

You can immediately move on to making a beautiful green buttercream that tastes deliciously of vanilla. This buttercream is quick and easy to make while the cupcakes are still cooling.
 
Here is how to make the vanilla buttercream 

 

Mix the butter until creamy.

Sift in the sugar in 2 batches.

Mix the milk into the butter mixture.

Mix in the vanilla extract too.

Mix until the cream is creamy and pipeable.

Stir the colour into the buttercream.

Fill your piping bag and pipe on buttercream.

Our little mini-monsters decorate the cupcakes with sprinkles.
