The second month of this new year starts with rain, rain and more rain. A shame! We are already looking forward to spring. But in the winter you do have a lot of time for cooking & baking, reading and crafting. We make very nice winter crafts with the little ones.

As soon as the month starts we bake delicious things for Chinese New Year. The year 2024 is the Year of the Dragon. February 2 is Candlemas, February 9 is Carnival and then Valentine's Day is on February 14! Who says the holidays are behind us in January?

We read sweet picture books to the mini monsters, about Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day. But this month we also read beautiful, fun books about special women from history. But this month's theme is science, so we have a varied February reading list!

Then, at the end of the month, it's Spring Break. For the South Region, the holidays start early, from February 10 to the 18th. North and Central are free on February 17 and we will all be back at school on March 25.
