For Halloween we read We're going on a ghost hunt to the little monsters, written and illustrated by the American Michael Rex. The story is a parody of the world famous picture book by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury We're going on a bear hunt.
This is an exciting book for toddlers, with colourful, cartoon-like drawings of scary monsters. The story is known, so not that original and the translation is not the best. The mini monsters like the book but they are not enthusiastic about it.
The kids in the book aren't scared at all of the scary goons ... or are they? Just a bit? NO, they are really very scared! Baby is not, she thinks it's all a wonderful adventure!
