Today, we're reading a second AVI starter book from the Learn to Read with Zwijsen series with the monsters, for the first time. Again they picked out a fun book from the library called wat een lef! (How brave!), a book with a story that's about riding on the bus. The monsters themselves love riding on the bus; for them it so much fun!
We were immediately struck by the handy size of these books and how neat they've been produced. The cover of each book is very attractive and features silver and gold prints here and there. It's no wonder the books were so quickly chosen! We really appreciate the design and attention that was paid to the execution.
Back home, the reading session starts right away again, and this book is so much fun! The story goes like this: When Eef and Mum get on they see the bus is already quite full, but they find a nice seat. Eef thinks it's fun, with so many people and animals on the bus, she looks around at her leisure. But then somthing happens and then everyone suddenly sees an animal that's not so nice, what happens then? You can read all about it in wat een lef ( How brave!) :))
This hilarious story was written by Monique van der Zanden, and the super funny illustrations are made by Hélène Jorna. These ladies are very special; you can tell it right away! A wonderful book with a real story. And what do the monsters think? "TOP!" say the monsters (and so do we).
3+ sunny shining stars for wat een lef! (How brave!), from the little readers and their big listeners!
