What do you need?
3 white mugs (Dille&Kamille)
3 colours acryllic paint (Action)|
paint brushes (Ikea)
tranparant tape
matte hobby varnish
Walking into the Action store - in search of fun hobby materials - we saw this paint straight away. These colors are cute, we immediately wanted to paint something with it. It happens we've just made a fun storage-board on which stand three boring white mugs ... We can start right away!
How to make the hip cups
Stick masking tape on the mugs on 2/3 of the height.
Apply a thin layer of paint to the mugs.
Let the paint dry then apply layer two.
Apply layer three and let the mugs dry really well.
Carefully remove the tape from the mugs.
Remove tiny imperfections with a sharp knife.
Blow the tiny specks of paint off, don't rub!
Schratch precisely and carefully around until a clean line.
Check all three mugs and schratch where neccesary.
If varnished you can wash the mugs under the tap.
Apply a thin layer of matte varnish and let it dry overnight.
See how cool the mugs look on our storage board! Nice!
Clean the mugs under the tap with some soap but never in the dishwasher!!
