Vergeten oorlog sidepicll

Today we read a very moving but beautiful book: Forgotten War. The book was written by Schrijvers van de ronde tafel (Writers of the Round Table), A group of 20 well-known Dutch authors who together write the most beautiful history books. History is the binding factor in this group of writers. From the many books they have written together, this is a very special book,

In the book 10 children tell their stories of what they experienced during the Second World War. Because you may know already, the Second World War not only raged in Europe, But amongst others also in these 10 countries: Ethiopia, China, Poland, Suriname, Iraq, Russia, the Netherlands Antilles, Morocco, Croatia and the Dutch East Indies.

Today it is Liberation Day in the Netherlands, May 5th is the day the enemy was finally expelled from the Netherlands. This is still remembered every year. Although the children from this war almost all have disappeared, it remains very important to continue reading these stories. So that today's children can hopefully ensure that in the future there really will be world peace, on our earth. Because the earth belongs to everyone!

3 brightly shining, hopeful stars for Vergeten Oorlog (Forgotten War), from the young listeners and their readers!
