The Wiiloughbys, written and illustrated by the American author Lois Lowry, is a very unusual book. It is about the Willougby Family, a father, mother and 4 children who are very peculiar to say the least. These parents do not want the children at all and the children also like to really get rid of the parents.
You really have to read for yourself how this all develops. Is the story exciting? Not really. Is it funny then? Also not really, more like weird. But it's still a lot of fun to read. Funny to us is that one of the children in the book travels through Rotterdam ;))
Lois Lowry became world famous with her bestseller The Giver, a very different book then this, not comparable to The Willoughbys at all. But that she can write she has proven already and with more than one book!
