One of the techniques that is taught early on at the Waldorf School (and there are many!) is drawing with chalk on a blackboard. You will enjoy creative techniques you learn at a young age through your whole life. Later you can pass them on to your own children, whether they attend a Waldorf School or not.
It is such a pleasure to work with your own imagination, by drawing, doing needlework, woodwork or crafting. Working with your hands brings you peace of mind, it teaches you patience and let you practise your motor skills as the same time. Moreover, children enjoy their end product: Look mum, all made by me!
Miss sets the good example in class, sometimes even multiple times a week. There is a beautiful drawing on the board at every occasion. As soon as the children enter the classroom they see it. The changing of the seasons, the annual festivals, the animals they learned about or nature and everything is drawn beautifully with chalk. Once home again, they often get to work right away!
It must be really wonderful to sit down in such a beautifully decorated classroom every day. Now the little monsters can get to work with chalk when they are at home too, just as Miss taught them. After the seasons they make some robots from Mars :)) Awsome!
