This flip-over book, Saar waait weg (Saar is blown away) from Christofoor's "Verhalenrijk" series, is a super fun book. On one side of the book, you read a funny story written by Monique van der Zanden. The story is about Saar, the adventurous Spider and her frightend friend Mies the mouse. The gorgeous illustrations are made by Ruth Hengeveld. (sadly these books are not translated into English).
If you flip the book to "Hello, Spider!", you can read all sorts of interesting facts about spiders. For example, about how a spider communicates with other spiders. What? Yes, they really do! And then there are much other facts, tips, experiments and fun crafts—really cool and at the same time educational!
Our little monsters already know quite a bit about spiders, although they're not particularly fond of spiders. It's fine if they're in the garden, because the monsters avoid the garden in September - October. But they're strictly forbidden indoors! We carefully catch the spiders we find inside our house - who may have just wanderd in from outside - using a glass and a postcard and let them play outside again :))
