Chocolade munten sidepicll

The day before yesterday we read this beautiful book through which we learned what Hanukkah is, in short it's the Jewish Festival of Lights. Yesterday we got dreidels, small spinning tops with which you can play a very old game. We also got to know that game through the booklet. Today we will make chocolate coins, to play the game with our dreidels. The Sinterklaas chocolate coins are already gone ;))

Bring a pan of water to a boil with a heat proof bowl on top.

Chop the chocolate into small pieces.

Put the chocolate in the bowl, let it melt.

Stir it briefly and add optional the double cream.

Without added double cream, the chocolate will eventually remain hard, with whipped cream the structure of the chocolate becomes softer

Pour the chocolate into the mold.

Allow to cool and harden.

Gently press the chocolate from the mould.

We should have made the coins half as thick.

Paint the chocolate coins gold with edible paint.

Allow the gold paint to dry completely.

In order not to overfeed kids we also have peanuts.

We paint the shell also gold, with acrylic paint.

Now we have enough money, let the game begin!

Happy Hanukkah!
