How is the garden doing

in september?
Kitchen Garden, Info, and Autumn

The weather is still nice and sunny and the garden is looking good, after an extreem warm July and August with storm and rain. It still is lovely to sit outside and our plants and shrubs still produce enough fruit. Not quite as expected but still! Also the inedible berries come out in full, which is nice for later in a vase.

The harvest was very poorly this year, but not with regard to the raspberry bush and the strawberry plants. The blueberries did not show themselves at all, while they started so promising.

There weren't many red currants either - that was as expected - because we pruned them far back last autumn. That is really necessary now and then!

Raspberries we can pick daily, they grow before your eyes.

In just a few days we have a nice little bowl.

The same goes for the strawberries, they give in abundance.

Because of the mild winter we could keep the plants over, from last year,

Last year we still picked raspberries in November! What climate change? They are outside, not in a greenhouse.

This year the grapes are doing very well.

The bunches hang from high to low.

Just a little longer and then we can pick.

We always pick blackberries outside, in our neighborhood there are plenty of blackberries everywhere along the road. We are not the only ones to come and pick them, you regularly see people sometimes with their children with a little bucket in their hands ver busy. ;)) So nice to see! At least we can be making bakes with fruit or we make jam!

September is also a beautiful month in the garden!
