The pictures are cheerful and funny, just like they should be in Sinterklaas season. They fit in with the modern vintage style which many young Dutch illustrators nowadays apply. The use of colour is part of it, pale with lots of ocher, petrol, moss green and burned orange. It gives the illustrations a fresh look.
