250 grams La Tua Farina flour (AH)
125 ml water
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
pinch of sea salt
some flour, to dust your workspace
2 extra tablespoons olive oil
optional: handful of sage (from our garden)

Kids find it great fun, to bake your own bread. Focaccia is the easiest bread to bake yourself, it's very quickly done and it can not fail if you follow the recipe exactly.

The whole house smells wonderful when this bread is in the oven. For kids the ideal bread because you can also leave the sage out. Moreover freshly baked focaccia tastes not as the daily slice of bread but much better!


How to bake Focaccia

Weigh the Italian La Tua Farina pizza/focaccia flour.

Place the flour with the salt in a big bowl.

Add the exact amount of water to the flour.

And add one tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil.

Knead the dough for 3 minutes, make a ball.

Knead another 2 tablespoons olive oil into the dough.

Rinse the sage and dab it dry with kitchen paper.

Preheat the oven to 220°c.

Chop the sage finely.

Lay waxed paper on your work surface and sprinkle flour on it.

Knead sage in the dough and press both sides in the flour.

Press the dough flat and slash it in diamonds.

Place the dough on waxed paper on the baking tray and brush it with the extra oil.

Bake the focaccia bread in 20 minutes light brown.

Let the bread cool on a wire rack.

With minimal effort you can bake two breads at once, just double the ingredients. You may make one with and one without sage.
