Every quarter we are curious about Oerrr's "crafts", when the envelope arrives on our doormat. They are always easy to make so everyone can participate, which we really like. Sometimes you need a little help from an adult, but more often you don't. You give nature a helping hand and the animals as well, which is why we became a member of Oerrr in the first place.

You often see quick results from your help with a craft. Happy birds chatter in the garden (little crawlers are breakfast, lunch and dinner to them!) The little diggers such as woodlice and ear crawlers get a new home and mold and moss can grow on the tree stump ar branch. Today's "craft" (air quotes) is about those last things.

Find a fallen thick branch or piece of stump from any tree and place it in the soil. Now you can visit it every week and see what happens to your branch or stump. You would think that nothing happens to a dead piece of tree. But nothing is farther from the truth!

Insects will make little holes under it. Green leaves are sprouting from the ground near the branch. There is moss and mould growing on and around it,, so there is a lot of life under and around the branch. You just have to be patient and look very carefully!

We will keep you informed of what is happening here, with words and pictures. But it may take a while, so while you wait you might want to check out the OERRR-website, it also has some fun crafts on it. Or perhaps you would like to become a member of OERRR yourself, but first consult with your parents!
