a cut-out pattern
thick, brown cardboard
brown crafting cardboard
various colours of brown felt
hobby glue
fabric glue
lancing device
string
For the fall we make a cozy garland with leaves and acorns. We make the acorns from felt and crafting cardstock then lace them on a string. It's a nice job, relaxed cutting and pasting, And when the garland is ready it brightens up the room no end!
How to make the autumn garland
Print the pattern, trace on cardboard and cut them out.
Use the patterns to cut out the cardboard.
Trace the bottom part of the pattern on craft cardstock.
Use the same part of the pattern to cut out the felt.
Pin the top part of the pattern on felt.
Cut both pattert parts out the felt.
Stick the bottom part on cardstock.
Stick on the top part of felt using textile glue.
Press the acorn hat firmly onto the nut.
Put on clothespins and allow the glue to dry well.
Cut oak leaves out of felt, in Autumn colours.
Thread the oak leaves alternately between the acorns.
Now find a nice spot to hang the acorn garland!
