A serious book about how children lived long ago, in prehistory for example, there are not many of those! But fortunately this older book can still be found, albeit second-hand. This 4 piece book series has been in our family for years and several children have read it with pleasure.
The book is interestingly written by the French author Pierre Pelot. Understandable but not childish. It starts like this: Two million years ago, people first settled on the territory of the future Europe. They would never leave. How people - and certainly children - survived back then, we cannot imagine.
The preserved stone axes, hunting spears and throwing sticks, which were used to hunt for food. But also necklaces and sculptures have been discoverd, through which we now know that there were also artists living among the people of that time. A very special book, which we warmly recommend!
