Tomorrow is King's Day! But we're already starting to read our new book to the little monsters: The King Goes Sailing! They can't wait! The book is written entirely in rhyme by one of our favorite authors, Koos Meidertss.
He writes so funny and clever. It's a real joy to read his rhymes, and our little monsters think so too! The cheerful illustrations are - as almost always - made by artist/illustrator Annette Fienieg
The story goes like this: The King is going out sailing in his beautiful, large boat. The boat doesn't have an engine, so it has to be propelled forward by rowers. Quite a few rowers are needed; there's room for 20 boys/girls on board.
Just as the King is getting a little impatient, and before they can set sail, the last two rowers arrive, and the boat can finally depart. Where will the journey take them? The King decides; he's the boss. To the end of the world, or perhaps Spain? It's so exciting, we're very curious! ;)) Such a fun book!
