100g butter
90g soft brown sugar
2 free range organic egg yolks
175g Zeeland or plain flour
20g Dutch cocoa powder
a small piece (milk) chocolate
white chocolate buttons
For Carnival we bake funny, very yummie chocolate cookies. But beware, they look like poop! That causes great amusement for our little monsters. Thank you Alber Heijn, for an easy recipe that is a lot of fun!
How to make turd cookies
Beat butter an sugar until creamy.
Separate the eggs.
Add the yolks while beating.
Sift flour and cocoa.
Stir it until combined.
Fold it into the butter mixture.
Knead it briefly by hand.
Place the dough into a clean bowl, cover it and put it in the refrigerator
Allow the dough to rest 1 hour.
Make pieces of dough weighing 35g.
Roll into dough snakes and roll up.
Preheat the oven to 175°C
Bake the turds for +/- 20 mins.
Cool 5 minutes on the tray.
Then cool on a wire rack.
Melt the chocolate in a bain marie.
Stick on the 'eyes' and draw on pupils with chocolate.
Make the serving fun with confetti and balloons.
And then ... Party!!!
