Cop and Robber? That combination has certainly been fun since ancient times! Tjibbe Veldkamp has written a whole series of very funny, self-reading books about it for beginning readers. This book is called lol in de lucht (fun in the air - sadly only available in Dutch!) and the cover immediately appealed to the little monsters.
The cover art and the humorous illustrations were created by illustrator Kees de Boer, and they really bring the story to life. The mischievous thief, who continues to escape, to do all sorts of naughty thing. Ans ... the slightly goofy cop who always manages to catch the robber in the end, they are and will stay forever wonderful!
Our little monsters had a lot of fun again, reading this book to us, all by themselves(!), and we listeners also found the story very funny!
